You know what I really need in fanfics? More confession scenes where one person drops the confessions then runs, fast as fuck, in the other direction.

Like, obviously they’ll meet back up eventually and talk about it (which is hilarious in itself that they would have to sprint to catch up while yelling why they’re like this) , BUT THINK ABOUT IT!!! It 1) give the other person a chance to gather their thoughts so the person confessing doesn’t have to sit in anxious silence and 2) allows the confessor to get it over with quick and overcomes that anxiety over confessing. Also it’s just fucking hilarious.

Like imagine your fav paring or whatever, they get to that part where one (or both idk) realizes their feelings for the other but they’re just anxious to be vulnerable like that or they fear rejection, whatever. One of them suddenly goes, fuck it, and they turn to the other. (Maybe they’re on a sidewalk, maybe they’re in a park IDK endless possibilities here) and they go:

“ok I’m about to say something, it’s nothing bad (I hope) and I’m willing to talk about it after I say it. I’m 100% serious, this is really not a joke. But I’m going to say this and run to (relevant location). Ok? Ok…. Don’t freak out… iminlovewithyou” *Cue maniac SPRINTING as fast as humanly possible in the other direction* (Bro I’m cracking up just typing about this)

AND THEN!!! You get to chose how they react after a few stunned seconds. Do they sprint after them? Do they shout to bring their ass back over to them? Do they race like hell to beat the other at the determined location??? I don’t know, but it’s hilarious as fuck and can transition seamlessly into heartfelt feeling talk.

(Thinking about this with specific ships is funny as hell too)

Idk I think of more fics had this trope we could all have a grand ol silly time instead of accidentally speed reading through confession schemes because the stress is too much then having to go back and re-read it to fully process it, as one does. You know?

Day 2: Like a Song

I'm not really the type to make specific playlists for any ships, but I do remember someone mentioning that when people used to draw their OTPs in the Hatsune Miku 'Magnet' pose, that it was peak fandom era. So it's kinda music themed?

Yes, this is way more drool-lier than the original and yes, their hands are down each others pants, idk what's with me, most of my art for this week became nasty. xD

Here are some songs that I've mostly seen floating on Stobotnik Tumblr but that really stuck to my head as Stobotnik songs (even if I couldn't decide on any art from these):

x Billy Ocean - Lover boy (definetely something Stone sings in the shower)

x Andrew Montana - Strawberry (the line "I'll keep you, you menace" is such a Robotnik line to me. He doesn't want to admit even to himself how important Stone is to him, so it's like when he calls Stone his barnacle. He says he's stuck with Stone, his barnacle, his little menace, even though really he'd fight tooth and nail to keep him by his side. Again, his little menace. The line also works, since Stone is the only government assigned agent he has actually kept (I hope the Knuckles series doesn't ruin this headcanon from me). Anyway, big feels from this quote alone.

I've decided to establish the Stobotnik week, and here it is! I hope you will be encouraged to participate in it.

It will start on March 31st and end on April 6th, time to think and do! But, first some clarifications and facts.

🥚+🪨: Why the date? I wanted to give a kind of significant value, so, I looked for some important and representative dates for the ship. And that concluded in making it right after March 30, the day after the release of "Pre-Quill" the official comic book of Sonic the movie! Where we were given a bigger glimpse of Stone and also his relationship with Robotnik.

🪨+🥚: What's valid and what's not? Any kind of input to the week is completely welcome, it's a dynamic and the important thing is to have fun! The plus is to show it with the rest of the fandom. However, NSFW content is limited, please don't break the only rule!

There may always be more dynamics or challenges that include NSFW content, but not in this one.

SU AU Stobotnik

Long post (probably ooc White Diamond and Robotnik)

I love making Steven Universe and Homestuck AUs of random characters, so here’s my Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone as gems idea.

Robotnik is a one of a kind red emerald owned by White Diamond. He would have been shattered for being “off color” if not for the fact that his uniqueness makes him significantly smarter than all the other emeralds and White feels she can use this to her advantage. He’s White’s resident scientist/weapons engineer, and her sort of “pet/secret weapon” thing. He starts going by Bixbite to further separate himself from the other “rocks for brains” emeralds (yes, I know there’s a cannon Bixbite, but I found that out after I made this AU, so too bad, Robotnik’s the only Bixbite in existence in this AU). However, he’s incredibly difficult to interact with, so White usually has another gem relay messages for her. He often ends up poofing said messengers, though, out of irritation. This becomes a problem, so out of passive aggressiveness and trying to fix the problem, White makes him a Pearl specially suited to match his personality (so as not to be afraid to talk to him) and act as a barrier between Robotnik and every other gem. This Pearl is Agent Stone. At first, Robotnik is the happy with another plebeian gem in his lab, calling Pearl “nothing more than a common stone to him.” Eventually, he starts to grow on him, and the nickname “Stone” sticks. Stone, of course, in typical pearl fashion, starts to fall in love with his Bixbite.

I have more to their story, but it’s not all fleshed out, yet. Some random tidbits I have…

-Pearl’s weapons are handguns

-Bixbite hates working under White and wants to be his own boss

-They’re not for the revolution, but they’re not against it either. They couldn’t care less about some planet called “Earth” with other creatures on it. But at some point, Bixbite gets cracked and needs to be healed. Pearl hears about a rebel Rose Quarts with healing powers and escapes with his broken boss to Earth to heal him. They end up getting stuck on Earth as Homeworld fugitives.

-Bixbite enjoys making ships, but is envious of the fact that the other emeralds get to actually fly them, while he’s stuck on the ground. He secretly wishes to see the stars and often daydreams about space.

-They accidentally fuse very briefly while Bixbite is cracked, so he has no memory of this happening, but Pearl remembers. He never said anything to anyone (not even his boss) about it, but has been trying to recreate that moment ever since. When he finally does, their fusion isn’t very stable, breaking apart only moments later. Bixbite ends up having a distaste for fusion, feeling like he’s losing himself when he fuses.

-Bixbite does eventually return Pearl's romantic feelings, but they find other ways to show their love outside of fusion.

as i mentioned in my last post, i probably wont be posting about anything scu-related in the future, at the very least not anything praising it. if i reblog shadow referencing a keanu reeves role, my bad, ive only seen so many things with him in it. if i reblog scu art that i think is just mainline, my bad, i wasn't thinking. im gonna be honest i dont even think ill do little things, like stobotnik but in mainline context, though i will say, stobotnik mainline au may be like. the 1 exception??? because i do like the ship??? but thats the complete extent of what ill post, if that.

a part of me wants to say "but this is spoiling other people's fun!" and then the other part of me says "by not giving a platform to actors and a company that is complicit in genocide" and it shuts up the first half pretty easily. remember that considering everything, while yes it's likely to have very anti-military, anti-us themes, there is a chance both knuckles and sonic 3 will contain hidden pro-israel propaganda. if it wasnt obvious, i don't want to post about israeli propaganda.

for anyone who knows me personally, or at least messages me, im more likely to be more leniant seeing as. well. it's not public. but im still not sure if ill talk about it unless it comes up in conversation???

ik i have a handful of people here who are mostly scu fans, possibly even scu exclusive. ig im sorry??? i can understand why theres a lot of scu fans, so i suppose if you like scu but you also want to stop posting about it, may i recommend some OTHER things to try (this is a long list so buckle up:

hop (2011) has a similar plot to sonic 1 and has james marsden (who is also not a good person but i dont think even universal would care if youre pirating hop (2011))

a really good place to start is honestly the snapcube dubs!!! you might get a few spoilers from context clues but theyre a really fun way to get to know games a little bit! obviously, theres a big barrier of there only being 5 dubs of 4 games, but i feel like once youve watched the dubs you can sort of get into the rest of her videos from there (theres also. theres this one. this one series. that people like. btw.)

while yeah i recommend the games, theyre sort of hard to know where to start. all i can really say is, dont start from forces or frontiers, at least know the plot of sa2 and thats basically it. ig if you want to play EVERY game, you dont really need to play anything before sonic 3 & knuckles and even then you can still start from sonic adventure and learn the plot of s3&k

NiGHTS is fun but also youll learn nothing about sonic i just wanted to mention it

if youre more into the action, i recommend sonic prime (and also, a few fix-it-fics or rewritten endings)

i recommend sonic boom if you want the comedy* and the characters living (mostly) normal lives. also you can literally watch most of sonic boom for free on youtube idc if im biased i will die on the hill of it being the best sonic canon. yeah im even including rise of lyric. no i have not played rise of lyric. do not mention the wasted potential of the concepts or i will explode.

*no offense but sonic boom is way funnier. idc if im biased because the sonic films are honestly only a step up from mcu humour most of the time, if that

if you want lore, i recommend the comics rather than the games, seeing as its slightly daunting where to start with the games. for a slightly more sanitised and. ig "normal" experience, read either idw or post-reboot archie. but if you want things to get a little wild theres pre-reboot archie. the only archie comics ive read are sonic boom and NiGHTS, so im not speaking from experience. but. wow. theres a lot to unpack there

if for whatever reason you just want sonic thats completely different to the games, i recommend sonic the comic and any of the 90s cartoons!!! theyre honestly really fun and because theyre so early on in sonic history (?) theres so many inconsistencies

sonic the fighters is fun but also you literally will never have to play that ever and its hard to find anyway

im pretty sure ive mentioned every canon there??? and a few things i dont need to lol. but the point is, if you are a fan of scu, you arent immediately a bad person! BUT (and here's the bit you actually have to listen to): if you are posting and praising the scu, particularly the upcoming projects, you are giving a platform to a large chunk of zionists.

i read a ton of criticism about marvel as a whole, which i wholeheartedly agreed with, with the way they treated loki and how unfortunate his story in the mcu was. also disliked taika (still do. just something about this guy...) i vaguely remember some talk about how they made this show only to set up TVA, which i also partially agree with, and while im not up to date with all new marvel movies (and i couldnt give two shits) iirc it wasnt used at least not until this year, idk whats coming out now and if they deal with that or not. i only saw those posts about the og avengers making a comeback so im wondering if this is the connection thats gonna happen?

but as for the whole thing, i remember there was a lot of stuff about the mcu and how poorly they handle loki, how they blame him for things and make him evil when he was literally under thanos' control at the start. yes hes a trickster, yeah hes not entirely good, but hes not the monster they keep painting him as. i also only watched movies only for him (except for gotg as i like them too) so killing him off was lame but i prefer him dead than misused. i honestly loved thor ragnarok because of the teamups and all but looking back its just not the greatest movie (it took several watches to realize that ive had enough of that fucking movie) but even though he was treated extremely pathetically i enjoyed it. but thats where i saw the main critique, about how taika decided to make him an useless prop and stuff like that, i cant confirm or fact check that but it was a whole thing about how he treats tom in general, again idk if true but it did open my eyes and showed me how poorly lokis character is treated.

then came the show and i liked it at first cause yay! loki! yippee! and he has a boyfriend yippe!! but then again i realized he, being in a show literally Named After Him, he was just being useless in the background and then completely controlled. thats why its hard for me to look past that again and just try to enjoy s2 and the shipping (cause that might be the only thing worthwhile) i just dont know what to think of it. and im saying that as a person that has liked slightly "problematic" ships (and just look at my otp being ganling) its the uneven control/upper hand in the relationship i guess? its why i stopped shipping 2/doc too cause thats just a mess, but a nice example is stobotnik where stone is seemingly weaker and being controlled, its possible to even it out by a different kind of dominance (iykyk) plus he is shown as capable to kill etc. and obviously very much happy in his position. with ganling theres also a difference but its being downplayed in the source material and thats why i allowed myself to dig deeper and see more of the relationship, so while it might seem unfair, its pretty even there. but here with lok1us with loki being entirely stripped of power and mobius very possibly just manipulating him (dont take this fully seriously as i dont remember much of s1!) its just hard to take it as oh they like each other :33 yeah idk man. and no i dont think they will make them a couple, youre watching disney ffs

I'm guessing the next Sonic movie's "big" conflict will be about how Tom & Maddie are expecting a child and Sonic is worried that he will be "thrown out" again / that he has no place in this family, all the while Tails is trying to convince him to leave Earth with him & the rest of the gang.

That would also let Sonic & Robotnik bond a bit over their shared abandonment issues and maybe Robotnik recovers some of his sanity thru court-assigned therapy sessions!

Anyways the movie wasn't great but I loved Jim Carrey's version of Robotnik, looking forward to his Eggman too. Agent Stone better be back in the sequel, and by that I mean the real human!

My favourite genre of Sonic fanart is Stobotnik ship art where Agent Stone looks like himself, but Robotnik looks more like games!Robotnik than the movie one.

yes everything is better when the best version of Eggman is involved instead! that's how the pair can get my personal interest. I still find that I can't get super into it to say I really ship it myself though because I'm just not really the biggest fan of Stone or anything from the movies in general but I do think art I've seen of the two is pretty cute ^^

What are your thoughts on Agent Stone? What's he like as an assistant to Robotnik? (I often get a Mr Burns and Smithers vibe from those two.) And would you ever ship Stobotnik?

I like Stone quite a bit, even if he technically doesn't do much aside from being Robotnik's yes man. But his chemistry with Jimbotnik is great, and I really admire how passionate his actor is about the movie and its sequel.

As for their relationship, I see it in the same way as Staregg before they pulled the rug out from underneath us with that one: a one-sided dynamic where the doc is using the other for his own gain.

The bulk of Sonamy is not only on FF.net but on DeviantArt as well. As for AO3, there's how it's still invite only, but it was always a site that attracted people wanting not only more gay or non-canon ships in general, but people who are search out or want to share more "forbidden" content especially after sites like FF.net and LiveJournal banned porn which caused people to want and create alternative sites like AO3.

Yeah, true, I tend to forget that DeviantART also hosted plenty of fanfiction. Now that I think about it, Sonamy is probably the oldest ship in the fandom lol

That's a point I hadn't considered! I tend to treat AO3 like a much better organized FF.net, and forget that it was specifically made for fics that would be in danger on other archives. And yes, that includes gay fics sadly, especially M/M.

... Still baffled that Stobotnik's popularity was near exponential though

Today I had a dream where Sonic and Eggman teamed up because they were both being chaced by G.U.N., and Sonic had one of his legs wounded, so he couldn’t run...

Solution? They (Well, Eggman) stole a car and drove away from the GUN agents. 

This lead to an intense chace scene with Eggman driving a car a bit small for him, while Sonic freaked out due to feeling like they were about to crash.

Did you know? CLAMP (Yes, THOSE CLAMP) drew humanized versions of Sonic the hedgehog characters back in 1994! 

Something I find really funny is how Eggman still looks like Eggman... You can't better perfection.
